Simply put, I am a youth soccer coach, high school soccer coach, and club soccer coach looking to make things right in the beautiful game.
This is not a knee jerk reaction to anything in the game. Quite the contrary, this blog is designed to further the game specifically in the United States. As a soccer coach in many levels, I want to share the trials, tribulations, successes, and overall advice for people looking to learn about soccer.
Why do this?
- Because soccer, in the United States, is become politicized more and more with each passing day. Soccer, and sports in general, are suppose to transcend politics and exist as something all humans can come together and enjoy.
- Opinions, at least educated ones, are hard to come by and are critiqued heavily. I am trying to provide the truthful opinions to all things soccer.
Originally, I had contemplated doing this type of honest soccer reporting in a podcast but did not feel like it provided me the best ability to showcase myself. By writing, it gives me the opportunity to fully express my opinions without the nuances of having to record.
To help you understand why I am doing this, ask yourself the following?:
- Why do we, the United States, have such a disparity between men and women in soccer?
- How can we, as a society, make things right in the world through sports?
- How has soccer impacted your life?
I want to read opinions from everyone who reads my blog. The only way to be a success is to create an open dialogue free of judgement where we can discuss all things soccer. If, by chance, soccer becomes a way that we can unite as humans then I will find my success.
